Personalization not only points out that you see your employees as individuals, but it also shows that you take time to invest in their workspace. A new name plate, some personalized stationary, or a pen set with their job title could go a long way in your employees seeing you as more than just a boss. To let your employees know you appreciate them, treat them as more than just a number. However, do make sure that you spell their name right, or the whole project is for naught!
The workplace is changing fast. Employees expect to be treated like individuals. That doesn’t mean going soft on professional expectations—not by any means. Rather, it means giving your employees everything they need to succeed. It means believing in the general decency of people—believing that people will do their best work when you trust them and give them the tools to succeed.
